Faithfulness

It’s been two weeks since the last update and for good reason, there wasn’t much to update. Our family went back to Charleston for 12 days because I was speaking at a couple of camps. While I spoke at those camps, Sara and the kids had the opportunity to spend time with family and friends.
While we were gone, six more people moved to Denver from the Charleston area, which brings our total to fourteen of us so far. It is such a blessing to see the faithfulness of so many people.
I am amazed at how much faith this community of friends has. They have all left a great city, lots of friends, family, jobs and the security of knowing what tomorrow would probably hold. They left the comfort of “home†to establish a new home by finding new jobs, new places to live, building new friendships, and redefining family.
Sara and I are so incredibly blessed to be on this journey with such amazing friends who are concerned about seeking God more than anything else.
I am reminded by these friends that God is not looking for people who are simply wanting to live the American Dream and be comfortable, God is looking for people who are willing to stare at the unknown and walk forward knowing that God is with them.
For some of you that may mean you are to pick up and move to some other place to help plant a church. I happen to know of one that I’m sure you would love.
For others, maybe your step of faith is being willing to trust Jesus with your life.
Still others, maybe God is calling you to take a next step of obedience by building a relationship with a neighbor or giving more financially or serving more in your church.
I believe that no matter who you are, God is looking for each of us to be men and women of faith. As it says in Hebrews 11:6, “Without faith, it is impossible to please God.â€
Don’t settle. Don’t buy into the lie that we are to achieve the American Dream and live a life of complete comfort. Find out what faith step God is calling you to make and begin walking today.
Thank you to everyone who is walking this journey of faith in helping us start this new faith community. Whether you are moving to the Castle Rock area or you have lived here your whole life, your willingness to step out in faith and reach this community for Christ is a step that God is honored by and He will reward your faithfulness. So, thank you!
P.S. – If you haven’t heard, we finally established the name of our church…Front Range Christian Church. We would love to have you follow us on twitter or befriend us on Facebook by searching for Front Range Christian Church.
