Three and a half years ago, I started noticing an unsettling with where we were in life.  We loved our jobs, our new house, our city and our church.  There was no sign that we would be leaving all of it behind, but we knew something was going to change.

Here we are, four days before we drive out of Charleston in a U-haul, destined for a new city, new jobs, new friendships…a new life.

To say we are excited is an understatement, yet to say there are feelings of deep sadness is also an understatement.  It has been, and will continue to be an emotional rollercoaster, but one that we know we must take.

Someone asked me the other day, “How many times have you thought about changing your mind and just staying in Charleston?”  My response was pretty quick and easy…never.

This isn’t an adventure we would have chosen on our own.  You don’t just decide to leave family and friends that you love, a church that has been used by God to radically transform your life and family, jobs that we have been at for so long and love, neighbors who are truly a blessing from God and a city that we know well and are grateful to call home.  You don’t just decide to pick up one day and leave all of that.

We know we are called.  We know God is drawing us to a new city to experience Him in new ways.  We know there are people in Denver who need the transforming power of the Gospel and, for some reason, God has chosen us to bring them that Gospel.

The mission is clear, but the emotions are still real.

So, please continue to pray for us, especially during this transition. Besides the prayer list I gave here, please pray for these items.

-Pray our packing of the U-haul would go smooth and quick.

-Pray for our travels. (I drive out on Friday, Sara and Waverly fly out on Saturday and Wyatt and my sister-in-law fly out on Wednesday the 10^th)

-Pray we would get settled quickly in our new place.

-Pray for Sara’s new job that she starts on Monday.

-Pray for us to sell our house here in Mount Pleasant.

-Pray for God to move mightily in and through us.
